Australian Press Council
Established in 1976 The Australian Press Council is responsible for promoting good standards of media practice, community access to information of public interest, and freedom of expression through the media. The Council’s website plays an important part in delivering on this charter.
In developing the new website for The Council the emphasis was on disseminating information in a user friendly way. The site allows for quick access to core information about the Council, its role in standards, and how to lodge a complaint. Central to the build was a Document Finder which utilises a complex directory search that scans 1000’s of documents based on a user’s search criteria.
The site has been a great success with a huge volume of site visits due to the prominent role The Council plays in the Australian media landscape. The Document Finder has allowed for easy categorisation of a huge database.
