We were fortunate to meet the team at Flying Solo through a mutual associate shortly after we launched The Web Showroom in 2007. Their fantastic community of thousands of small Australian businesses was a natural fit for us. Over the years we have been lucky enough to present at their Flying Solo Live event, to market our services on their website for a number of years and to post articles in their directory. When developing a microsite for their Flying Solo Live event the team at Flying Solo! asked if The Web Showroom could assist.
Over the years we have built the websites for the 2008, 2009 and 2010 Flying Solo Live events. This was followed in 2011 with the website build for the inaugural Flying Solo Independents’ Day event. These conference style websites had to be built to evolve. Initially they focussed on generating interest in the event through speaker information, an overview of topics and easy registration for attendees and exhibitors. After the registration period was complete, the sites quickly converted to micro-sites featuring detailed information on the actual days with rich information on individual sessions and event details. Once the event was completed, the team at Flying Solo would then convert the sites into archives of the event with images, session transcripts and videos.
The team at Flying Solo have come to us four years in a row to build the event website which shows what a great success the sites have been. The events themselves have been sell-outs with tickets often being sold-out weeks in advance. An archive of each year’s event has been kept online to allow for this rich content to be accessed.
